Rules for organizers

1 Basic rules and opportunities for the organizer
1.1 Introduction
Welcome to the FTOYD platform! FTOYD enables you to create and host your own tournaments, manage event operations, and engage directly with players on the platform.
We aim to ensure that tournaments remain fair, safe, and enjoyable for all participants. As an organizer, you help uphold competitive integrity and foster a friendly environment by running your events.
These rules and accompanying documentation provide essential guidelines, requirements, and restrictions for organizing tournaments. Please review them carefully before publishing your first event to ensure smooth operation and a positive experience for participants.
1.2 Organizer account registration
To obtain organizer status and run tournaments, you must register an organization. Registration is available only with an active organizer subscription of any tier. You can purchase it via the "Settings" → "Subscription Management" page.
Your organization is assigned a unique name, which cannot be duplicated by other organizers.
1.3 Acceptance of rules and agreements
To obtain and maintain organizer status, you must review and agree to these rules. Your agreement is confirmed during the organization registration process through an active subscription.
You agree to comply with FTOYD regulations when hosting tournaments, interacting with players, and ensuring competitive integrity. Violations may result in temporary restrictions, loss of organizer status, or other sanctions imposed by the platform.
1.4 Organizer capabilities
As an organizer on FTOYD, you are granted the ability to create and host tournaments, manage participants, verify their eligibility, communicate within your events, and use all available platform tools. You are responsible for properly setting up tournaments, adhering to platform rules, and maintaining fair play.
You may establish your own internal rules, such as scoring systems or penalties for rule violations, as long as they do not conflict with FTOYD regulations. All decisions must remain transparent and applied consistently to all participants.
1.5 Administrative authority of FTOYD over organizers
The FTOYD administration and support team are authorized to monitor organizer activity and intervene in tournament operations if their actions violate platform rules or compromise competitive integrity. This applies both to explicit violations and to situations not directly described in the rules but clearly conflicting with fair play principles.
The administration may restrict organizational tools, temporarily suspend, or fully revoke organizer status. All decisions are made to preserve fair conditions and maintain trust in the platform.
Possible enforcement measures:
- warning;
- temporary restriction of functionality or permissions;
- suspension or revocation of organizer status;
- cancellation or withdrawal of tournament results and achievements issued by the organization.
1.6 Organizer rule updates
FTOYD may update organizer rules at any time. All updates are published on the platform and take effect immediately unless stated otherwise.
You are responsible for keeping track of the current version of the rules and following them when hosting tournaments and using platform tools. Continuing to operate after updates indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
Compliance with the current rules is mandatory for maintaining organizer status and accessing all platform features.
1.7 Organizer team
You may add assistants to help manage tournaments. All actions performed by team members are treated as your own, and full responsibility for them lies with the owner of the organizer account. The platform does not review internal conflicts within the team.
Recommended:
- invite only those you trust;
- ensure that all administrators are familiar with tournament rules and platform policies;
- monitor the team's work, including communication, lobby management, ticket handling, and applying sanctions.
Assistants are prohibited from:
- interfering in a match to benefit specific players;
- using their permissions for personal gain;
- sharing internal or sensitive information with third parties, including match codes.
2 Creating and editing tournaments
2.1 Tournament Creation Process
Tournament creation begins with drafting your event. In the draft, you can refine details, make adjustments, and return to editing at any time before publication. The platform also allows you to duplicate existing tournaments, speeding up the setup process while preserving the format, rules, and settings, which you may adjust as needed.
After completing the preparation, you submit the tournament for moderation. The moderation process verifies the accuracy of information, compliance with platform rules, and fairness of conditions. If necessary, you may cancel the moderation, make revisions, and resubmit the tournament.
2.2 Tournament Moderation
Once a tournament is submitted for moderation, the FTOYD team reviews it for compliance with platform rules, accuracy of the description, clarity of conditions, and overall competitive integrity. The review period cannot exceed 12 hours.
If any errors or inconsistencies are found, the tournament may be rejected with an explanation. You may revise the information and resubmit the event for review at any time.
A tournament cannot be published until it is approved. After successfully passing moderation, the tournament will be published and become available to players.
2.3 Tournament Editing Process
Before publication, you may freely edit your tournament draft: adjust the format, description, rules, settings, and other parameters. If needed, you can cancel moderation, make corrections, and resubmit the tournament for review.
Once the tournament has started, any changes are strictly prohibited. This ensures fair conditions and equal opportunities for all participants.
2.4 Prize Pool
You are required to specify the prize pool and its distribution: at least 1000 ₽ or $10. A tournament cannot be submitted for moderation without a properly completed prize distribution.
Funds are deducted from the organization’s balance automatically when the tournament is submitted for review. If you later adjust the prize pool amount, the balance is recalculated accordingly—either increasing or decreasing based on the changes.
After the tournament concludes, prize rewards are distributed to participants automatically or when you manually click the “Finish Tournament” button in the control panel. The platform retains a 5% fee from the prize pool when issuing monetary rewards.
All financial operations are recorded in the organization’s transaction history.
2.5 Tournament Cancellation
You may cancel a tournament before it begins or while it is in progress. Completed tournaments or tournaments in the results-processing phase cannot be canceled.
If a tournament is canceled, the prize pool is automatically refunded to the organization’s balance. All cancellations are logged, and frequent or unjustified cancellations may be considered a violation of platform rules.
Valid reasons for cancellation include, but are not limited to:
- critical technical failures, server issues, or widespread connection problems that make the tournament impossible to run;
- urgent circumstances on the organizer’s side (e.g., loss of account access or a verified force majeure situation);
- numerous player reports about map, mechanic, or Fortnite mode bugs that prevent fair competition;
- a significant scheduling error causing the tournament to overlap with mandatory maintenance windows or other events, making a proper reschedule impossible.
2.6 Tournament Rescheduling
Rescheduling depends on the current stage of the tournament:
- If the tournament has not yet started, you may edit it and set a new date.
- If the tournament has already begun, rescheduling must be done by canceling the current event and creating a duplicate, which is then submitted for moderation with updated scheduling.
If needed, you may contact your tournament manager to coordinate the reschedule and adjust event details.
2.7 Tournament Completion
After all matches are completed, the tournament automatically enters the “Results Processing” stage for 24 hours. This period is intended for collecting missing replays and verifying match results when necessary.
During this time, the organizer's team may also review tickets that could affect competitive integrity or alter player standings in the leaderboard.
Once you are confident that all data has been collected and verified, and all disputes have been resolved, the tournament can be finalized manually using the “Finish Tournament” button. After this, the results become final, no further changes are allowed, and the prize pool is automatically distributed according to the established payout structure.
3 Rules and recommendations for successful tournament moderation
3.1 Clear tournament naming
Avoid overly generic or uninformative tournament titles (e.g., “Fortnite Tournament”), spam-like symbols, excessive repeated characters or emojis, promotional phrases (such as “free tournament,” “join now”), as well as offensive or provocative language.
3.2 Appropriate content
Do not use obscene text, symbols, or images in the tournament or organization name, description, cover image, rules, or any other part of your event. This rule also applies to any attempts to bypass it through altered spellings, stylization, or imagery.
3.3 Assets and Cover Images
Do not use low-quality cover images, stretched or distorted elements, covers from other organizers’ tournaments, or any visuals that may violate platform rules. Your cover image represents your tournament on the platform, so choose or create artwork that reflects the style and atmosphere of your event.
3.4 Mandatory participation requirements
Do not set mandatory participation conditions that:
- violate the rules of any services involved or applicable laws,
- require players to engage in actions that compromise safety, rights, or privacy,
- include links to prohibited resources, scam websites, or content intended to bypass platform rules,
include links to unlicensed gambling activities or fraudulent gaming schemes (such as Telegram channels offering “gift/star games,” private lotteries, raffles with betting elements, pseudo-casinos with no real chance of winning, etc.),
- contain discriminatory, offensive, or obscene content.
3.5 FTOYD brand identity
The FTOYD brand identity may not be used in the design of your tournaments. Your event must have its own style and visual identity — FTOYD is the platform, not the brand of your tournament.
Do not use FTOYD logos, branded fonts, buttons, colors, graphics, or any elements that visually resemble the platform’s official style. Do not copy FTOYD banner designs or create your own materials that might be mistaken for official platform events. Even partial recreation of branded elements is considered a violation.
4 Tournament management process
4.1 Player Registration and Data Verification
To register for a tournament, a player or team must fulfill all mandatory participation requirements specified by you and approved during moderation. These requirements are part of the event entry criteria and not a formality.
For the registration system to function correctly, do not remove or restrict FTOYD service bots in the social networks used for subscription verification. Otherwise, participants will be unable to complete verification and register.
If a player or team later unsubscribes from any mandatory requirement, their registration is automatically canceled within an hour. Participants may also cancel their registration manually, but only until less than 10 minutes remain before the tournament starts.
4.2 Lobby Formation and Bot Invitations
Lobby formation and player connection are managed by you, your organization's administrators, or a tournament manager (if such a structure is agreed upon in advance). These roles are responsible for proper match setup and ensuring safe participant access.
At the start of a match, you receive a match code and instructions on how to manage it. Bot invitations can be sent through the tournament interface to ensure players join the correct queue without errors.
The match code must remain confidential. Sharing or publishing it is strictly prohibited, as this may result in unauthorized players entering the lobby, disrupting the match, and forcing restarts.
4.3 Additional Lobbies and Match Restarts
Additional lobbies and match restarts are used when some participants fail to join, technical issues occur, or the match start is executed incorrectly. These tools help maintain fairness and equal conditions.
An additional lobby may be created at your discretion if several players fail to join for reasons unrelated to rule violations. When performing an additional lobby start, previous lobbies remain valid, and you create an extra lobby within the current match.
A full match restart is allowed only in cases of severe technical failures: a non-functional match code, unauthorized players entering the lobby, widespread login errors, or similar issues. In such cases, all previous lobbies in the match are voided.
Additional lobbies and restarts must not be used to gain a second chance, change strategies, or improve results. The decision is made by the tournament staff but must be justified and in line with fair play principles.
4.4 Communication Management
During the tournament, communication with players is handled through two main channels: the event’s public chat and the ticket system, which is available to the entire organizer team. These tools allow you to resolve questions quickly, address technical issues, and maintain transparency throughout the event.
The organizer and team members may use special commands to manage chat and access permissions, enabling moderation, violation tracking, and a smooth communication environment.
Maintain a respectful and professional tone. Clear instructions and timely responses build trust in the tournament and help preserve a healthy atmosphere on the platform.
4.5 Handling Disputes
Disputes may arise due to technical errors, disagreements between players, or inaccuracies in result submission. You are responsible for reviewing such cases promptly and fairly through the ticket system.
If the issue goes beyond your authority or involves platform-level technical functionality, it may be escalated to your tournament manager or FTOYD support for further resolution.
4.6 Handling Technical Issues
Technical issues may occur either on the Fortnite side or on the platform side. Your task is to promptly assess the situation and take actions that preserve tournament integrity and minimize the impact on participants.
If the issue affects lobby connection, match code functionality, result accuracy, or access to chat and tickets, you must notify players, temporarily pause the match, and attempt to resolve the issue using all available tools. If necessary, an additional lobby or a full match restart may be used to restore fair conditions.
If the issue goes beyond your control, report the incident to FTOYD support or your tournament manager, providing a description of the problem and any available evidence. The administration will guide you on the next steps, such as rescheduling the match or applying technical solutions.
5 Transparency and fairness of the tournament
5.1 Prohibition of Result Manipulation
Tournament results must accurately reflect the actual gameplay of participants. Any attempt to intentionally alter, hide, or falsify data—whether in tables, replays, screenshots, or during result submission—is considered a serious violation of the rules.
If an error occurs unintentionally, you are required to correct the information promptly and notify players in the tournament chat. Deliberate manipulation or concealment of results is treated as a breach of competitive integrity and may lead to sanctions, including loss of organizer status.
5.2 Collusion Between Organizers or Players
Any form of collusion is strictly prohibited and considered a serious violation of platform rules. Collusion undermines trust in tournaments and deprives players of fair competition, which is why FTOYD maintains a strict policy against such behavior.
Collusion refers to any attempt to predetermine match outcomes, manipulate results, artificially advance teams, intentionally lose games, exchange points, or otherwise influence competitive fairness. This also includes covert coordination between organizations, leaderboard manipulation, granting unfair advantages to specific players, or attempting to bypass rules for a desired outcome.
Organizers may not interfere with match outcomes for personal benefit or to favor certain players. All participants must compete under equal conditions, and results must be determined solely through gameplay.
5.3 Proper Application of Penalties
The organizer and their team members may issue player bans using the platform’s built-in tools. These bans apply only within tournaments hosted by your organization and do not affect a player’s participation in events run by other organizers.
Player disqualification is allowed through a special chat command but only for reasons explicitly stated in the rules of the specific tournament. Any disqualification must strictly follow the stated conditions and be applied consistently to all participants.
FTOYD does not review disputes or complaints related to in-tournament gameplay violations. The responsibility for identifying issues, evaluating situations, and applying penalties lies entirely with the organizer.
6 Financial and prize obligations
6.1 Prize Distribution System
After the tournament concludes, the prize pool is automatically distributed among players according to the payout structure you have defined. Rewards are issued immediately after results are finalized—either manually via the “Finish Tournament” button or automatically at the end of the results-processing period.
The platform retains a 10% fee from the prize pool when issuing monetary rewards to players.
All payouts are processed through the FTOYD system and credited directly to participants’ gaming accounts. The organizer cannot alter the payout mechanism and is not permitted to distribute prizes manually
6.2 Platform Service Fee
When prize rewards are issued, FTOYD retains a 5% fee from the total prize pool. This commission is deducted automatically at the moment funds are distributed to players after the tournament concludes.
6.3 Partner and Sponsored Rewards
You may specify additional partner or sponsored rewards when creating or editing a tournament. These rewards are entirely your responsibility: you must provide them in the stated quantity and within the declared timeframe.
Sponsored rewards are not part of the FTOYD payout system and should not be perceived by players as associated with the platform. FTOYD does not participate in verifying, processing, or issuing such rewards and bears no responsibility for their delivery.
7 Responsibility and sanctions
7.1 Types of Sanctions
If an organizer’s actions violate platform rules or jeopardize competitive integrity, the following measures may be applied:
- warning: a notice of violation requiring corrective action;
- functionality restriction: temporary prohibition on creating tournaments or using certain tools;
- suspension of organizer status: temporary block preventing the organizer from hosting events;
- revocation of organizer status: complete removal of the right to run tournaments;
- tournament cancellation: annulment of active events.
Sanctions are assigned based on the severity of the violation and its frequency.
FTOYD may terminate cooperation with an organizer and revoke their status in cases of repeated violations, abuse of authority, or actions that undermine trust in the platform.
In certain cases, a decision may be made without additional notice if the violation poses significant risk to participants or the platform.
7.2 Appeal Mechanism
An organizer may submit an appeal against applied sanctions if they believe the decision was incorrect or insufficiently justified. Appeals must be submitted to technical support and include a brief description of the situation along with supporting evidence.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the sanction will be lifted, but it ensures that the decision will be reviewed with consideration of additional factors. The final decision made by the FTOYD administration is conclusive.
8 Final provisions
8.1 Priority of FTOYD Rules Over Organizer Rules
FTOYD rules take precedence over any additional rules you establish for your tournament. All organizer-created regulations must comply with platform standards and may not contradict them.
If a conflict arises between a tournament’s rules and FTOYD’s rules, the platform’s version always prevails.
8.2 Legal Force of the Document
These rules constitute the official governing document of the FTOYD platform and regulate organizer activities during the creation and management of tournaments. All provisions are mandatory from the moment of publication and remain in effect until updated or revoked.
By using the platform and its tools, the organizer fully agrees to this document and acknowledges its legal authority. In the event of disputes, the current version of the rules published on the FTOYD platform takes precedence.
This document operates within the scope of applicable law and must be interpreted strictly in accordance with the specified regulations and platform policies.
8.3 Processing of Personal Data
The organizer is not permitted to collect participants’ personal data outside the platform, including passport information, phone numbers, addresses, social media accounts, or any other personal details.
All data processing must be carried out exclusively through FTOYD’s built-in tools. Collecting information outside the platform is allowed only with the players’ voluntary consent and must fully comply with applicable data protection laws.
